Ice Probe Chiller up to 10gallons aquarium ( No Controller including), weight about 3 lbs

**50 Watts of cooling power (Don't expect this micro chiller to cool down your aquarium water like magic, this unit only pack with 50 watts power, you may need mutiple units to cooling down 10 gallon water during summer time. All the information was provided by manufacture of Ice Probe), However, this is one of the cheapest chiller you can buy this time.

*You can adding a chiller controller later when you need it.However, during the summer time, over-heated aquariums (over 82 degree F.) mayneed non-stop constant cooling...

he IceProbe is the ideal cooling solution for small aquariums (up to 10G or less). This quiet, reliable, and efficient chiller uses advanced thermoelectric technology to directly covert electricity into cooling power. Not Includes Ice Probe controller. The Aquarium Chiller can be easily installed in any orientation through a 1.25 inch hole into siphon overflows, pre-filters, sumps, or aquarium walls, or suspended with a bracket or lid over the top of the aquarium.

By using our IceProbe solid state thermoelectric cooling system, the Aquarium Chiller directly converts electricity into cooling power utilizing the Peltier effect. The chiller?s probe cools the water by removing heat and radiating it into the atmosphere through fins with the help of a quiet, low-speed fan.

Since nocompressor is needed for thermoelectric cooling, the Nova Tec Small AquariumChiller is extremely reliable and requires no refrigerants, so it?senvironmentally friendly.
CoolingPerformance

A singleIPAC-50W chiller can cool 10 gallons of water 3-5?F below ambient airtemperature in a standard aquarium. Multiple Aquarium Chillers can be used toachieve higher temperature differentials.

Greatertemperature differentials can be achieved by insulating the exterior surfacesof the aquarium. For example, a single Aquarium Chiller can maintain atemperature differential of over 20?F in a fully insulated 10 gallon aquarium.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Will the IceProbe provide enough cooling for my application?

The Nova Tec IceProbe is designed for small-scale liquid cooling applications such as residential drinking water systems and small aquarium chilling. Our research and consumer feedback tells us that the unit?s output of two gallons of cold drinking water per day in cold water drinking systems is ample for most homes and small offices, and that one IceProbe provides sufficient cooling for small (10 to 20 gallon) aquariums. However, if you require considerably more than the 50 watts of cooling provided by the IceProbe, you may want to consider using a larger commercial water chiller.

Does the IceProbe have many moving or mechanical parts?

Only one: the fan motor, which pulls cool air into thesystem and exhausts warm air. To assure years of dependable service, we usehigh quality fan motors 'and recommend the use of air filters when integratingthe IceProbe into appliances or other equipment.

Why does the IceProbe?s fan run continuously even whenregulated by Nova Tec?s Proportional Temperature Controller?

Nova Tec?s temperature controllers are designed to regulatethe voltage only to the IceProbe?s thermoelectric cooling module, not to thefan. By providing a constant 12 volts to the fan motor, the overall system ismore energy efficient since the fan keeps the heat sink cool, decreasingvoltage to the cooling module. Also, the fan motor is not designed to operatebelow 9 volts while the cooling module can operate all the way down to 0 volts.

What happens if the IceProbe?s fan motor stops running?

If for some reason the fan motor stops running, the heatsink?s temperature will increase and the system will become much lessefficient. A safety thermal fuse is attached to the IceProbe?s heat sink toprevent it from becoming dangerously hot and damaging the system. This fusewill detect when the heat sink becomes too hot and will cut the power to theIceProbe until the heat sink cools. The thermal fuse is designed toautomatically cycle in this manner up to 100,000 times until the problem iscorrected.

How many IceProbe?s can I use with Nova Tec?s standard powersupply or temperature controller?

One. Each IceProbe requires its own power converter..

Can the IceProbe be used in pressurized reservoirs?

Our standard IceProbe comes with a silicon washer designedto provide a watertight seal in non-pressurized reservoirs. However, withproper ?o-ring? implementation, a watertight seal can be achieved inpressurized reservoirs as well.

Will ice always form around the probe?

No. Iceformation will only occur in applications where the reservoir is small (e.g.four quarts or less) and very well insulated.
