SIMPLICITY CHEMICAL REACTOR

A fluidized bed chemical reactor is the most efficientway to implement chemical filtration. The Simplicity Chemical Reactor is notonly super-efficient, it is also the easiest and

most user-friendly way of implementing chemical filtermedia in any sump type filter.

The Simplicity Reactor has been designed to accept anyloose filter media. Media that is sold in bags or pouches must be removed fromits pouch and poured directly into the

reactor. This will ensure bypass free chemicalfiltration.

The Simplicity Reactor employs 300-micron screens forcontaining media, making it suitable for even very fine medias such asion-exchange resins and very small-grained

carbons. The symmetrical design of the reactor offersa screen self-cleaning feature. Whenever screen clogs with aquarium debris andthe flow rate becomes reduced,

removing reactor form base and flipping it 180 degreesrestores flow rate.

The Simplicity Chemical Reactor can be operated in twodistinct modes: MODE 1 - fluidizes up to 8 oz (225 g) of media at flow rates upto 100 GPH (378 LPH), and MODE 2 -

up-flows through up to 16 oz (454 g) of media at flowrates up to 500 GPH (1893 LPH).

Both operational modes are equally efficient and thespecific fluidization characteristics are media type and flow rate dependent.In this respect the reactor is self-regulating,

continually providing bypass free chemical filtrationthrough a broad range of flow rates. The reactor works equally well whether itis partially exposed or fully submerged;

however, it must remain in upright position to workproperly.

The recommended usage of media is based on actualperformance of the various medias in a typical aquarium. Carbon, for example,removes organics that should be then

disposed of; leaving carbon for prolonged periods oftime in the aquarium allows bacterial action to release the adsorbed organicsback into the water. PhosLock resists the

release of captured phosphates and can be used in thesystem for much longer periods of time.

Debris build-up inside reactor can restrict flow.Disassemble reactor regularly to clean screens and/or recharge with freshmedia. To avoid media spills, check integrity of 300-

micron polyester screens and gaskets before each use.The screens wear out with continuous usage and must be replaced. Reactor partscan be purchased through your local
