The blue/white bulb emits a blue tint of light which produces a unique crystal clear water view and promotes the growth of many various plants and corals in nano aquariums that standard daylight bulbs simply can not. For a nano aquarium that requires high lighting and various spectrums, this bulb is surely the right choice. Blue-White: 30,000-10,000K.

Kelvin is a measurement of temperature, and is often referenced as a "K" at the end of a lamp model. The higher the Kelvin temperature gets, the bluer the bulb is. Always choose compact fluorescent lamps with a kelvin rating that is at least 6500K for reef or planted aquariums. Bulbs with a Kelvin rating lower 6500K are going to emit a yellow light that will not look good. 6500K Aquarium bulbs seem more like that of sunlight.
