| CALANUS Sicce CALANUS offers a revolutionary approach to feeding both hard and soft corals, other invertebrates, fish larvae and fishes requiring zooplankton in the range of 2 to 4 millimeters and smaller. CALANUS contains 100% natural copepods harvested from the pristine waters of the Arctic Ocean. Feeding on abundant phytoplankton, our copepods provide top-quality protein, omega-3 fatty acids, and anti-oxidant compounds important in the diet of marine organisms. Copepods are an important part of natural marine food webs. ? All natural marine copepods ? Packed with nutrition ? Rich in color-enhancing pigments Research has shown that certain amino acids play a role in the development of the bright pigments that make corals so popular with aquarium enthusiasts. CALANUS supplies all the amino acids required by corals, and is rich in threonine, essential to corals and many other invertebrates. Directions: Rehydrate the desired amount of CALANUS in water from the aquarium or in Sicce H&O HyperKoral. We suggest approximately 1/8 teaspoon per 25 gallons as a starting point for feeding. Allow to soak for 15 minutes. Use a dropper to spread rehydrated food in the vicinity of corals, or add directly to the aquarium in an area of good water movement. The best time to feed is after tank lights have been off for 30 minutes to an hour. Because every reef aquarium is different, we recommend adjusting feeding practices based on the response of the organisms in the tank. Two to three feedings per week is a typical schedule.
